Draft day for the NBA.
One thing I LIKE about it is the thing which the day has in common with Trade Deadlines.
Jugglers called General Managers gamble with trades which can flip teams around.
Going onto NBA.com Trade Tracker suprised me today.
Just some news reports of trades included names as:
- Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson (Nets) for Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, Tony Battie (Magic)
With The Magic probably still having a aching feeling because of the finals, based on match-ups, The first feeling which comes with it is, which little change is there needed to be made.
Trading Tony Battie, a center whose growing older and whose minutes are fading, is not a gamble.
Courtney Lee, a rookie showing a solid future could be a gamble if he´ll DEVELOP into a person expected.
Rafer Alston who left his Skip to my lou era at the back of Eddie House´s Head is probably in the way of Jameer´s playing time, did put up Solid numbers during important times (Playoffs).
The only game the Magic won in the finals was when Rafer Alston put up 20 pts, in 8-12 shooting, accompanied by 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 3 turnovers.
The Nets will lose Vince Carter, who still puts up BIG numbers (20,8 ppg, 5,1 rpg, 4,7 apg) in 36,8 min while his NETS fell out for the playoffs.
He WILL be hungry for a legit run to a title with the Magic.
The other Net moving will be Ryan Anderson, who had averaged a small 20 minutes of playing time in 66 games, While putting up 4,7 rpg and 7,4 ppg is still in need of some time time contribute.
Another TRADE on the site was Shaquille O´neal (Suns) for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, ´10 second round pick, and 500,000 Dollar (Cavaliers)
For all the teams EXCEPT the Cavs Shaq isn´t a scare factor anymore. They have now two basketball icon´s.
Ben Wallace told he might retire after next season. Will the Suns medical staff make another miracle mummification happen?
With Sasha´s game being unstable in the last years, How will he react to a trade?
The second round pick and money are just little weights to make the trade be taken serious.
Be aware of the fact that The Wizards are not to be forgotten with Gilbert Arenas, definetly not when they add Mike Miller AND Randy Foye to the roster.
The other trade was a genre to be expected. The Spurs trying to find the fountain of youth in Richard Jefferson. Though losing a valuable player in Bruce Bowen, The Spurs we´re having trouble with age, which Bruce Bowen has enough of.
Let´s wait and see what else the NBA Circus got in store for us.
